How to get here

On foot 

The recommended way to get to Soho and Carnaby Street and discover the best spots and hidden gems is to walk. To find out the best route for you, visit Google Maps  

Soho is centrally located and is only short distances from these London hotspots:  

  • King’s Cross: 35-minute walk 
  • Buckingham Palace: 25-minute walk   
  • Piccadilly Circus: 10-minute walk  

Carnaby Street is less than a 5 minute walk from shopping streets, Oxford Street and Regent Street.  

By London Underground  

The closest underground stations are Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus and Tottenham Court Road 

  • Oxford Circus is on the Victoria, Bakerloo & Central Line. Approximately 5 minutes by foot to Carnaby Street.
  • Piccadilly Circus is on the Piccadilly & Bakerloo Line. Approximately 5 minutes by foot to Carnaby Street.
  • Tottenham Court Road: Northern, Central & Elizabeth Line. Approximately 8  minutes by foot to Carnaby Street.  

By rail  

The nearest national rail train stations to Carnaby Street  are Euston, King’s Cross St Pancras and Charing Cross. 

  • Euston Station: Follow signs to Euston Underground Station. Take the Victoria line, southbound, one stop, to Oxford Circus. 
  • King's Cross St Pancras: Follow signs to King’s Cross St Pancras Underground Station. Take the Victoria line, southbound, to Oxford Circus. 
  • Charing Cross: Walk to Trafalgar Square, from Bay T, take bus route 159, 13, 453, 6, 88 or  12 and alight on Regent Street. 

By bike  

Bicycle parking is located at the north of Carnaby Street next to Liberty Department Store.  There is also a Santander Cycle Hire (London's self-service bike sharing scheme where you can hire bikes from just £2), locations in the area.


The nearest Santander Cycle Hire docking stations located to Soho and Carnaby Street are: 

  • Little Argyll Street, W1 
  • Great Marlborough Street, Soho 
  • Golden Square, Soho

By car  

If possible, it is best to avoid driving to Soho and Carnaby Street as parking is very restricted. Carnaby Street is a pedestrianised area, so it is only possible to park in surrounding streets. If you are using GPS or Sat-Nav, please use the follow address: Carnaby St, City of Westminster, London, UK, W1F 9PS. 

Visitors can find nearby parking garages including, Q-Park Soho on Poland Street and NCP London on Brewer Street. 

By taxi 

Hail a London Black Cab and ask the driver to take you to Soho/Carnaby Street. Note that Carnaby Street is pedestrianised after 11am.
